E.G. Simmons Park
December 2005

More than 35 volunteers took a break from holiday preparations on December 10, 2005 to plant native plants at E.G. Simmons Park, along the shoreline adjacent to the park’s campground. The volunteers planted more than 1,00 pots of native pink Muhly grass and love grass in just a couple of hours!

Bob and Sue were among several volunteers who helped clear the shoreline of invasive Brazilian pepper plants at a workday a couple of months earlier, and then returned to E.G. Simmons for the February planting event.

Chris is another regular “Give A Day” volunteer who gave up part of his weekend to help restore a small piece of Tampa Bay.

Even the smallest volunteers were welcome at this workday – though they sometimes needed a boost from mom!

Jim is another regular “Give A Day” volunteer who enjoys getting dirty to benefit Tampa Bay.
