TBEP Senior Scientist Holly Greening recently was appointed to the National Academy of Sciences Ocean Studies Board.
The 3-year appointment will be from spring 2005 to spring 2008.
Holly earned her Masters degree in Marine Ecology at Florida State University and has worked for TBEP since 1991
as the senior scientist. She coordinates TBEP’s bay research projects and oversees its Technical Advisory Committee,
composed of local, state and national experts. Also, she has supervised development of TBEP's habitat restoration strategy,
which emphasizes restoration of low-salinity tidal stream areas that provide vital nursery habitat to juvenile fish. Holly
also has served on the board of Estuarine Research Federation.
The National Academies serves the community by bringing together committees of experts in all areas
of scientific and technical work. These experts address critical national issues and give advice to the federal
government and the public. The Ocean Studies Board advises the federal government on issues of ocean science, engineering and policy.
